Three Latin American ambassadors visit cartoon and caricature exhibition in Tehran
TEHRAN-Ambassadors of three Latin American countries to Iran paid a visit to the Latin America Cartoon and Caricature Exhibition at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA) on Saturday morning.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Art Bureau, organizer of the exhibition, Romina Guadalupe Pérez Ramos, Eduardo Ricardo Gradilone Neto, and José Rafael Silva Aponte, ambassadors of Bolivia, Brazil, and Venezuela respectively visited the event on December 9.
Launched on November 11, the cartoon and caricature exhibition showcases works by 400 artists from 15 countries in Latin America, including Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Honduras, Mexico, Cuba, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.
The artworks on display deal with the various subjects including anti-arrogance, anti-Zionist, and Operation al-Aqsa Storm.
Hamas launched Operation al-Aqsa Storm into the occupied territories on October 7 in response to intensified crimes by Israeli forces and settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. In response, the Zionist regime waged an all-out war on Gaza, killing more than 17,000 people, about half of them children, and wounding tens of thousands in the tightly besieged enclave.
The vibrant artworks also encompass other themes such as environmental issues, racial discrimination, soft war, food scarcity, water crises, and cultural invasion.
The exhibit was basically set to conclude on December 19; however, as it was welcomed by the audience, it has been extended and will wrap up on December 24. The TMoCA is located adjacent to Laleh Park on North Kargar Ave.
